FOHOW, the Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) corporation, marked its official entry into the Kenyan market on Sunday, responding to the escalating interest in Asian indigenous medicine among locals grappling with various health disorders.

The launch in Nairobi, attended by senior executives, including Jiao Peng, the FOHOW Group vice president, local representatives, distributors, clients, and regular users of TCM, signalled a significant milestone for the corporation.

Addressing the audience, Jiao Peng emphasized FOHOW's dedication to promoting the core principles of TCM in Kenya, aiming to enhance healthcare and provide sustainable livelihoods for local distributors.

"FOHOW's company culture revolves around spreading love, integrity, and loyalty, aligning with the TCM health preservation culture to benefit human lives and enhance their quality," remarked Jiao.

Having entered the Kenyan market in 2017, FOHOW's enterprise model demonstrated resilience and profitability, prompting its official launch to reach a broader population with its diverse range of medicinal products, according to Peter Liu, FOHOW’s general manager for Africa.

Liu noted the positive reception of TCM in Kenya, with more people recognizing its efficacy in treating infectious and non-communicable diseases.

He highlighted the three pillars of TCM—diet, exercise, and mental health—resonating with Kenyans seeking treatment for chronic ailments such as asthma, diabetes, hypertension, and kidney complications.

FOHOW’s entry into the Kenyan market aligns with China’s Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) objectives, focusing on providing quality healthcare services and employment opportunities for local communities, Liu disclosed.

The company has established a significant presence across East, Central, and West Africa, actively promoting TCM therapies like acupuncture, cupping, moxibustion, and scraping.

Tina Kinuthia, FOHOW Kenya country manager, emphasized the company’s commitment to training thousands of local distributors nationwide to enhance the visibility of FOHOW's flagship medicinal products.

Through a unique training and capacity development program, FOHOW has not only created sustainable revenue streams for local agents but has also showcased the safety and efficacy attributes of TCM, according to Kinuthia.

Since 2017, FOHOW has served approximately one million clients in Kenya, with Kinuthia expressing the company's dedication to revolutionizing healthcare and simultaneously securing financial independence for local agents.

The official launch underscores FOHOW's determination to contribute positively to the Kenyan healthcare landscape while fostering economic empowerment at the grassroots level.
