Azimio leader Raia Odinga's chief agent in the 2022 presidential election Saitabao Ole Kanchory has declared interest in the State House race in the 2027 General Election.

Kanchory the brother of Kajiado Central MP Memusi Kanchory, said one year after the Kenya Kwanza government was elected many promises remain unfulfilled.

"If we are tired of the same old fake folks, faces and stories, let's make 2027 the year of true change and a new dawn. Now you have a reason to vote on August 10, 2027. Vote Saibabao for a new and better Kenya," he posted on his Twitter handle.

Kanchory said he has declared his candidature early since the campaigns had either started or never stopped after last year's General Election.

"The next election is 4 short years away and since the campaigns have started (or never stopped), let me take this early opportunity to answer your call for me and other courageous young leaders to rescue our country from the wicked grip of political deception, con-manship and corruption that cuts across the current political divide," he said.

In his book, 'Why Baba is not the 5th', Kanchory has revealed that disorganization and infighting in Azimio cost Raila the presidential vote.

He claims that the Azimio leader won the 2022 presidential elections but gave away the victory in a “tragicomedy” orchestrated through a lack of proper strategy and organisation of the campaign team and staff.

“Elections in Kenya are won not lost; they’re taken. Baba gave it away. He won, yes, but he gave it away. Presidential elections are there for those who are prepared to take it. There has never been an election in Kenya in the last nearly 20 years that has been won, all of them have been taken,” Kanchory told KTN.
