Three inmates escape from Kerugoya Prison

Police have launched a manhunt for two inmates who escaped from the Kerugoya Prison at 4am this morning.

Three prisoners had escaped in the October 10 dawn incident but one was re-arrested.

Commissioner of Prisons Brigadier Rtd John Kebaso Warioba is at the Kerugoya prison to establish the circumstances that allowed for the three to escape.

The two are facing murder and robbery with violence charges and were alleged to have killed a Kirinyaga University student early this year.

They were to appear before the Kerugoya High court on Tuesday, October 11.
