US court serves Kenyan father via a local daily

A Kenyan man has been served by an American court through a local daily in what could be a case of a deadbeat father.

In the publication, James D. Akumu is accused of not making his whereabouts known to the petitioner regarding the termination of his parental rights hence the move to have him served via a local publication.

The State of Alabama, Tallapoosa County Department of Human Resources, Child Protective Services, has filed a petition against you regarding the termination of your parental rights as to the minor children, who are minors, and were born during the marriage of the parents.

Akumu has also been asked to serve his answer upon the Clerk of the Juvenile Court 395 Lee Street, Alexander City, Alabama 35010, the USA within 14 days of the last date of publication of the notice.

At the same time, the defendant has been ordered to personally appear in the Juvenile Court of Tallapoosa County, Alabama for the final hearing on the petition of Termination of Parental Rights on the 9th of November 2022 at 1:30pm

"Failure to appear for the final hearing on this date and time, without good cause, will result in a loss of your right to contest the Petition for Termination of your parental rights to the above-named children.' The notice by Clayton Kim Taylor, Judge Tallapoosa County Juvenile Court warned.
