Knec, Nema get new bosses in Uhuru Kenyatta's latest appointments

President Uhuru Kenyatta has appointed Professor Julius Nyabundi as the new Kenya National Examinations Council chairperson.

Nyabundi who will serve for a period of four years takes over from John Onsati.

Also appointed is Eric Mungai who will serve as the chairperson of the National Environmental Management Authority for a period of three years. He takes over from Dr Lul Abdiwahid who has been the acting chairperson.

Anthony Lan Njoroge Muturi has been appointed as the chairperson of the New Kenya Co-operative Creameries Limited for a three-year term replacing Dr Iganitus Kahiu and Mohammed Amin Sheikh has been appointed as the chairperson of the Insurance Regulatory Authority for a period of three years taking over from Abdirahin Haithar Abdi.

Hassan Reche has been appointed as the chairperson of the New Kenya Planter Co-operative Union board taking over from Henry Gichui Kinyua while Hellen Nangithia has replaced Elizabeth Pantoren as the chairperson of the Nyayo Tea Zones Development Corporation board. Both Reche and Nangithia will serve for a period of three years.

Treasury Cabinet Secretary (CS) Ukur Yattani has appointed Abdirahin Abdi as the new Retirement Benefits Authority for a period of three years replacing Victor Roy Pratt. Yattani also appointed Dennis Aroka as the new chairperson of the Kenya Railways Corporation chairperson for a three-year term.

Education CS Professor George Magoha has appointed Professor Karuti Kanyinga to serve as the chairperson of the Universities’ Funding Board of trustees for a period of three years, taking over from Geoffrey Monari. Magoha also appointed Dr Mercy Karogo to serve as the Kenya Education Management Institute chairperson for a three-year term. She takes over from Professor Eunice Mutitu.

Tourism CS Najib Balala has appointed Joanne Yelbert to be the chairperson of the Kenya Tourism Board for a period of three years, taking over from Adam Jillo.
