Covid positivity rate at 9 per cent as 280 people test positive

The Ministry of Health has said that 280 people have tested positive for Covid-19, from 3,105 samples tested in the last 24 hours.

In a statement to newsrooms Health Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe said that the country’s positivity rate is at 9.0 per cent, with 327,425 confirmed cases and 3,706,945 cumulative tests conducted since the first case of the virus was reported in the country.

Of the cases, 251 are Kenyans while 29 are foreigners, 150 are male and 130 are female with the youngest being 1-year-old and the oldest 90 years old.

Additionally, 122 people have recovered from the virus, 117 are from home-based and isolation care programs while five are from various health facilities around the country. Total recoveries are 319,791.

No death has been reported and the total number of people who have succumbed to the virus is 5,651.

There are 49 admitted to various health facilities, while 1,934 are under the home-based isolation and care program. Three are in are in the Intensive Care Unit and are on supplemental oxygen, while four are in general wards.
