Police in Tosha Village in Gatuanyaga Location of Thika, Kiambu county have launched investigations into the mysterious death of a nine-year-old boy, Paul Mwanzia.

His mutilated body was found dumped in a thicket inside a neighbour’s farm with missing parts.

The deceased's father Philip Kyalo said his son had been sent to charge his parents’ cellphones at his grandfather's house.

“His grandfather sent him to go and charge our cell phones but we waited for him in vain.  As it got late the mother decided to follow him to the shopping centre but could not trace his whereabouts,” said Kyallo, the deceased’s father.

Confirming the incident was Thika sub-county police spokesperson Muthee Nyaga who said the deceased’s relatives had reported him as a missing person on Saturday, April 12.

“The minor, a class three pupil at Gatuanyaga primary school, may have been waylaid by unknown suspects while on his way back home from his grandfather's house where he had been sent to charge the mobile phones,” said Nyaga.

The decomposing body of Mwanzia was found by an area resident who alerted the parents and later on, they called the police.

According to the police, when the boy of Paul Mwanzia who had been missing for the last week was found, it had wounds on the face, with hands and legs missing.
