Kiambaa MP Paul Koinange is dead

Kiambaa Member of Parliament Paul Koinange is dead. 

Reports reaching The Standard say that the MP died of Covid-19 complications at the Nairobi Hospital on Wednesday morning.

Until his death, Koinange served as the Chairperson of the National Assembly Administration and Security Committee.

Messages of condolence from the political divide have poured in. 

President Uhuru Kenyatta has mourned the lawmaker as a dependable leader whose undivided focus was the unity, stability and progress of the country.

In his message of condolence, Uhuru said the MP was a keen and steadfast supporter of the country’s peace agenda through the National Assembly’s Departmental Committee on Administration and National Security where he was the Chairperson.

“Through the National Assembly Departmental Committee on Administration and National Security where he was the Chairperson, Hon Koinange advanced legislation and policy interventions that sought to create a peaceful, stable and tranquil nation,” the President mourned.

Baringo Senator Gideon Moi has mourned Koinange as a dedicated leader who was committed to the welfare of his people.

Koinange joined active politics in 2013. He became a member of the Jubilee party and an MP of Kiambaa constituency in 2017.
