Saumu Sonko: Fairytale love affair with Senator boyfriend ends in premium tears

When it rains, it pours, especially when you are former Nairobi Governor Mike Mbuvi  Sonko. While the politician was getting a beating from the powers that be, his daughter, Saumu, was getting a beating from her fiancée, Lamu Senator Anwar Loitiptip, with whom she has broken up.

But before the much publicized break-up Anwar and Saumu were madly and deeply in love. Barely two years ago, Anwar was ready to die for the queen of his heart. The senator almost lost his life when he lurched forward to whisk Saumu from danger at Club Memphis in Kasarani area, Nairobi, rescuing the governor’s daughter from unknown assailants who had locked her inside the washrooms where they had gone to watch a football match. The senator sustained head injuries from the attackers who also threatened to kill him.
