Ladies, how do you dress while in the house?

Men, how about you enlighten us today. Does it really matter to you how your woman dresses while in the house?

I have been thinking of how I spend my days in the house over the weekends and on days that I really don’t have to leave the house and I can’t help but wonder whether I am doing things right. I have lived both the single and married life and at no point did I ever behave any different when it comes to spending my days in the house.

What I have never really understood is how someone can wake up early, take a shower, dress up and even put on some make up on days that they are not leaving the house.

I think I am the worst-behaved in this sector. You should see how, on such days, I drag my feet to the bathroom late in the afternoon.

I spend the better part of the day walking around the house in clothes I consider worn out. The only freshening up I do when I wake up is washing my face and brushing my teeth.

From then on, I am good to go about chores in the house. In fact, I comfortably take my breakfast and sometimes even lunch in this state. I will walk to and from the shop in the very state if I have to.

On the other hand, I have a sister who wakes up early as usual on such days, takes a shower, dresses up in top notch attire and even puts on some make up yet all she will be doing is walking around her house the whole day.

On the many occasions, I have visited her and thought she was either about to head to a function or is coming from a function because of how appealing she looked -- only to realise she has been walking around the house like that. Where exactly do some ladies get the energy to glam themselves up even when they are not going anywhere? If you only you know how much of a bother some attire is to me on a normal day at work, perhaps you would go a little slow on us.

Let’s start with the bra, just how do you have a bra on while in the house? Some of us feel suffocated by this thing! Please don’t tell me I have the wrong size... I have the correct one! I just feel overwhelmed by it. If anything, it is the first thing that gets adjusted on my body as soon as I get close to my house.

You might see us walking to our houses and you think everything is intact, no, some of us have already loosened our bras. They are just hanging on our shoulders and not doing much.

Then comes the belt! Okay, I can stand the normal belt but the figure belt? In the house? Dear men, do we have to go to such extents for you? I mean can’t you just let us be when in the house?

Back in the day when I used to live with a man, I remember spending the weekends in his shorts and shirts. You can imagine how baggy they looked on me considering he was almost twice my size.

Yet he never complained to me even once (but then again I know that deep down his heart, he had dozens of questions about me). Also, I have short hair and I only work on it when leaving the house. On the other end, we have women who even do their hair while in the house. At what point do you people take a break from your daily grooming routine? You are making some of us look either lazy, stubborn or both.

I salute all you women who looked all dolled up all the time. It takes commitment to do that. I have promised myself to try and do that this weekend, maybe it will bring good tidings. Perhaps a potential suitor in the neighborhood has been eyeing me all along but I have been putting him off with my not-so-good weekend appearance.

But don't expect me to glam myself up and stay put inside the house. I am going to walk around that estate till someone proposes. On a serious not though, I need lessons from some of these women.
