10 years after the Uganda bombings, did they ignore the warning of Prophet Mbonye?

Ten years on since the twin bombings in Uganda that claimed at least 74 lives, some of the survivors have recounted the events of that fateful day.

Thousands of fans had booked their seats at various entertainment joints to catch the 2010 World Cup final between Netherlands and Spain.

It was the first World Cup to be held on African soil so many felt the need to be part of history.

However, at half-time, a blast ripped through an Ethiopian restaurant. A few miles away, football lovers were still glued to their screens next to the Kyadondo rugby clubhouse and just before the final whistle, a loud blast was heard.

Many were unsure of what was happening but later it emerged the twin blasts were acts of terrorism.

Fredrick Kakooza said the second blast was so loud that he thought his ear drum would rupture. A similar story was shared by fitness specialist Judith Akankwasa who recalled how people were scampering for safety.

Ten years on, they wish they would have listened to Prophet Elvis Mbonye who claimed that he had seen all this.

In a video seen by Ureport, Anita Bananuka, who lost friends in the attack, says she wishes she paid attention to Mbonye who had warned of impending bloodshed.

“I attended a conference where the prophet (Mbonye) had prophesied about it…if I had taken it seriously I would have told my family and friends to be careful.

“Mbonye had asked us to pray about it. God wanted us to be safe,” she said.

Akankwasa, on her part, said she was astonished to learn that the man of God had warned the people but they did not listen.

Kakooza, an engineer, added that it is high time the government started appreciating what Mbonye does because his prophecies come to fruition.

“He has been saying things and they come to pass. Nobody can neglect that…he prophesied about Trump, the choppers, bloodshed in Lugogo…

“Why don’t you talk to that person? Why don’t you listen?” he asked.

In 2012, three Ugandan military choppers bound for Somalia crashed in Kenya and it later emerged that Mbonye had repeatedly prophesied the same prior.

According to some sources, he supposedly took his message to UPDAF officials but they brushed him aside.

Mbonye repeatedly gave that prophecy in the presence of so many witnesses at his weekly prophetic fellowships every Tuesday evening at Open House.
