Muthaiga Golf Course.

I refer to two recent articles (7th April and 25th May) by Mike The Pro Kibunja.  Despite refereeing many pro golf events over the last few years, I have never come across this gentleman.

He clearly needs to attend one of the KGU/KLGU Rules Schools. Then he might learn that over 400 golfers in the country have attended a Level 1 School, we have 61 qualified at Level 2 and now 15 at Level 3, the R&A’s highest level.   Mike states “I could be wrong, but we probably have only one or two Certified Level 2 golf Referees and none at Level 3 “. Yes, Mike – you are wrong.

Mike also should visit some of the other golf courses in the country and he would find that several now have a slope rating in preparation for the launch of the World Handicap System, not just Sigona. He might also speak to those involved in implementing this system in Kenya who have undergone training and are in close contact with WHS.

These people can help him understand the system better and keep him up to date with progress in Kenya.
