The planned relocation of traders to the new market stalls will delay further, according to city authorities.
City manager Doris Ombara and City engineer Kevin Ajul yesterday moved fast to allay the traders' fears, saying the relocation had taken longer than anticipated due to additional works.
The duo who addressed the press at the construction site of the market assured residents that the Sh15 million market will open its doors in a month's time.
Anxiety had been mounting among traders following concerns that the occupation of the new market had delayed even after they had been allocated space.
The county is constructing a 10,000 unit for small traders in the jua kali area.
