The National Assembly has approved President Uhuru Kenyatta’s nominees to Cabinet - Mutahi Kagwe (Health) and Betty Maina (Industrialisation) - paving way for their formal appointment.

MPs voted in support of the report by the Committee on Appointment that vetted the two for their respective positions, saying the duo had demonstrated good knowledge of their dockets and deserved to be appointed to the Cabinet.

Moving the motion for the adoption of the committee report, Deputy Speaker Moses Cheboi said Kagwe and Maina were impressive in the approval hearings. The committee is chaired by Speaker Justin Muturi.
