Maina Njenga eulogies Mzee Moi as good-hearted man

Former Mungiki sect leader Maina Njenga has eulogised the late President Daniel arap Moi leadership style, praising his efforts to unite the country and East Africa region.

Njenga said he has known Moi for more than 20 years and supported him during the 1992 election.

Njenga explains that his father and Moi were very close friends.

“I came to know about Moi when I was a teenager when I recognised the bond they had with my father and my late mother,” he added.

He said Moi was his neighbour in Laikipia County and they lived as both political and social friends.

Njenga thanked God for giving the Mzee Moi strength to lead the country with great integrity and the effort to strengthen the East African Community.

“I thank God for the time we shared with Moi and I remember all the work he did to us even by giving us a portion of land,” added Njenga.

“As a young boy, Moi used to visit us in school and encouraged us to work hard,” said Njenga.

He said that KANU political party is still strong and they need to move on, saying that they are praying that one of the Moi’s son will continue his good work.

Njenga sent his tribute and comforted Moi’s family yesterday.

“I am very sorry for the loss to the family of Moi,”he added.

He said together with his family, they are united with the family of Moi and thanked God for the life they shared with Mzee.
