A pathologist has testified that a man died as a result of injuries to his genital.

Dr Titus Ngulungu testified that the deceased’s genital glans was chopped off, leaving him in pain and trauma.

Ngulungu was testifying before Justice Teresia Matheka in the murder case of 41-year-old David Gakuru.

Gakuru’s wife, Naomi Nyokabi is implicated in his murder.

Nyokabi allegedly cut Gakuru’s genitals, part of the head, face and legs on August 6, 2019 at their home in Free Area Estate, following a domestic quarrel.

Gakuru succumbed to death while undergoing treatment at the Rift Valley Provisional General Hospital two days later.

Ngulungu presented the postmortem report before court.

According to the pathologist, the deceased’s body had cuts on the right side of the head and the face.

He said that the deceased also had a fracture on the neck which was swollen. “He had to lacerations on right leg and abrasion on his thighs,” said Ngulungu.

The report also showed that the deceased had internal injuries.

“The deceased had hematoma on his right lower chest and rib, fatty liver and swollen brain,” he noted.

He however maintained that the cause of his death was as a result of sharp force trauma to the glans of his genitals and massive blood loss.

“The deceased lost a lot of blood and I concluded that his death was as a result of sharp trauma to the head and glans of his genitals in keeping fatal assault.”

Nyokabi was arrested by members of the public as she was trying to flee from the scene.

She has maintained her innocence, but has been in custody since her arrest on August 6, 2019, after the court ruled that she was a flight risk.
