The nicely sewed Building Bridges Initiative(BBI) white shirts won by several leaders at the Mombasa function has wowed Kenyans in equal measure.

The shirts, some with Kenyan flag three-striped colours on the left side and another with same stripes in the middle kept Kenyans talking.

We were not able to identify the designer behind the shirts but whoever she or he is doing a good job.

It’s, however, the reactions by netizens on the shirts that left netizens in stitches.

@Obi_kenya001 tweeted:  Truth be told, BBI has made our leaders dress to kill. Kweli kenya got fashion. #BBIInMombasa.

The issue of size of the shirt came out after Homa Bay Governor Cyprian Awiti and Lamu’s counterpart Fahim Twaha appeared in one of the photos without the BBI shirt.

Netizens concluded due to their huge size, the designer was not able to get a fitting one for them.

Sultan wa Lamu using @SultanLamu tweeted: “The bigger the stomach the more public funds consumed. Out of all Governors only Lamu Governor @fahimyasintwaha and Homa bay Governor @cyprianawiti could not fit in slim shirts? Kitambi imekula pesa ya mwananchi ikitokea inateremka chini #BBIInMombasa #FreeAtty”

@ElviSymo tweeted: Seems Homabay Governor Cyprian Awiti did not get the memo.

Later, another picture appeared of ODM leader Raila Odinga shaking a hand with Awiti, wearing an oversize shirt with different design, causing another laughter.

@jacktone_oguso tweeted: I saw him wearing one, probably they adjusted an extra shirt for him.

@Hopataa: No. These guys came here and were given those white tops for the pictures. Unfortunately, his size was unavailable.
