Governor Ongwae reshuffles Cabinet in new shakeup

Kisii Governor James Ongwae (above) has reshuffled his Cabinet, a move he says is aimed at improving efficiency in his administration.

In the changes made on January 21, 2020, Edinah Kangwana moves to the Department of Administration, Co-operate Services and Stakeholder Management. She has been replaced by Dr Skitter Ocharo at the Department of Trade and Industry.

In a statement sent to the media from the Directorate of Communication, Ms Kagwana's department has a new Chief Officer Timothy Kambuni who has been moved from the office of the Governor and replaced by Alex Nyamweya.

John Billy Momanyi moves to Energy, Water, Environment and Natural Resources that was being held by Dr Skitter. The Department has a new Chief Officer Naom Mokaya who comes in from the Agriculture docket.

Roads department which forms a key component of Governor Ongwae's administration will be headed by Dr Walter Okibo and Carolyne Nyaseti as the new Chief Officer.

Nyaseti has been transferred from the Department of Youth, Culture, and Sports and will be replaced by Abel Ondimu.

The Ministry of Lands, Physical Planning and Urban Development will be headed by a new team; Vincent Sagwe (CEC) and Nicodemus Osoro (Chief Officer). The two have been holding the same positions in the Department of Roads.

Geoffrey Mogire moves to Agriculture as Chief Officer from his previous department of Stakeholder Management.
