Irate crowd kills six people in Busia

Six people have died in Masebula Village, Busia County after they were lynched by an irate crowd.

Rowdy boda boda operators and angry mourners descended on the six victims accused of killing a local trade. The six were among the people who had gone to collect the remains of the businessman.

Johannes Okoth Aduol who owns an electronics shop in Bumala was killed two weeks ago.

According to the villagers, Aduol was dragged out of his house by unknown people. His body was later found at Ligingo on the border of Busia and Siaya County and was taken to Sega mortuary in Siaya County.

The County Commissioner Jacob Narengo, County Police Commander John Nyoike, Butula OCPD and OCS have intervened a meeting over the matter.

The six bodies have been taken to Busia County referral mortuary.

No arrests have been made so far.
