A court has this morning allowed Sarah Wairimu, the wife of slain Dutch businessman Tob Cohen, to attend his burial in Nairobi today.

High court judge Stellah Mutuku has ordered that Wairimu be escorted to the Jewish cemetery at 2 pm to attend the burial of her husband.

Part of the order seen by Standard Digital reads: “This court is pleased to issue a production order to the OC Lang’ata Women’s Prison, to produce and escort the applicant to Jewish cemetery to attend the funeral of the late To Cohen.”

Both Wairimu’s and Cohen’s family lawyers had agreed that the burial of the businessman be conducted in accordance with the Jewish rights today.

Cohen's body was found in a septic tank in his compound in Nairobi nearly more than a month after he went missing.

High Court Deputy Registrar Jane Kamau declined to issue orders sought and directed that the matter be heard this morning.

“I do not have jurisdiction to issue such orders, but the parties should wait for me to consult the criminal High Court duty judge,” said Ms Kamau.

Cohen will be buried later today at the Jewish cemetery, Wangari Maathai Road, Nairobi.
