When he not buying and selling shares or building houses, Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro is busy making headlines.

The latest of such is being holed inside Royal Media Services offices on Sunday night as police waited outside to grab him.

Earlier in the day, Nyoro was involved in an altercation with Nominated MP Maina Kamanda at Gitui Catholic Church in Kiharu, causing chaotic scenes that prematurely ended a Sunday service.

Police said they wanted him for assaulting one of their own and resisting arrest.

It is not the first time he has ruffled feathers.

Evolution

Ndindi Nyoro first raised eyebrows with his anti-Raila Odinga propaganda and later his support for Deputy President William Ruto's 2022 presidential ambitions.

Before the 2017 general election, Nyoro was profiled as a rubble-rousing keyboard warrior.

He relentlessly insulted Raila Odinga with cusswords but no charges were pressed against him.

In 2017, he threw his hat into the ring for the Kiharu Constituency Parliamentary Seat when the incumbent and a friend, Irungu Kang'ata chose not to defend the seat.

He won the seat whose previous occupiers include the legendary Kenneth Matiba.

In March 2019, Ndindi proposed the Anti-corruption and Economics Crime Amendment Bill 2019, which proposed stringent penalties, including execution for those convicted of corruption in Kenya.

The bill drew a flurry of excitement and criticism in equal measures, with ODM Party Leader Raila Odinga slamming it as a ploy to clip powers of the DCI and DPP to handle corruption cases. Reason? It was mooted when parastatal bigshots and governors seen as allies of Dr Ruto were being hurled into courts of law to face corruption charges.

Team Tanga Tanga

A Ruto ally, Nyoro belongs to Team Tangatanga, a faction of Jubilee Party politicians allied to the DP and which is determined to have a Ruto presidency in 2022.

In July 2019, Ndindi accused the government of using state agencies to harass him. He talked of plans to arrest him due to his association and support for the Deputy President.

He declared he would not be intimidated and silenced since he has 'lived in houses and situations worse than police cells.'
