Gor Mahia embrace e-ticketing to boost revenue

Infinity ticketing aim to take Kenyan market by storm after Gor Mahia partnership.

Infinity Tickets (Africa Data Technologies Ltd) hope their partnership with record Kenyan champions Gor Mahia will open doors for their e-ticketing business in the sporting industry.

Infinity has been contracted by K'Ogalo to handle their ticketing this season, starting with today's 4pm CAF Champions League preliminary round return leg tie against Burundi's Aigle Noir at Kasarani.

Gor Mahia becomes the second Kenyan Premier League club to embrace e-ticketing after former FKF Shield champions Kariobangi Sharks.

The electronic system is expected to boost revenue collection and management, as well as aid to curb the ticketing forgery menace that has been witnessed at the club in the recent past.

Even as Infinity Tickets aim to take the digital market by storm, the company says it is concerned about security at the venue.

"We have been monitoring traffic on Gor Mahia's social media pages and we know the fans are really excited with this partnership... But the only concern we have is the security at the match venue. If the police keep law and order, I am confident this project will be successful," said Infinity's Kodi Barth.

However, the official assured fans of hassle-free services courtesy of integration with Safaricom.

"This is a Kenyan-made system, tested and implemented successfully by a number of clients. Gor Mahia contracted us after they underwent due diligence on the system," said Barth.

"We have integrated our system with Safaricom for them to improve the Internet around the stadium during big matches. They have a dedicated support team to address any issues during the match."

Gor Mahia treasurer Sally Bollo welcomed the partnership, urging the fans to embrace it.

“The e-ticket is a brilliant way for us to consolidate our revenue as a club by ensuring transparent, fast and easy ways for our supporters to get their tickets from wherever they are across the country,” said Bollo.

“This ticketing platform will enhance the customer experience for our supporters."

The VVIP tickets are retailed at Sh2,000 while the VIP and regular tickets are going for Sh500 and Sh200 respectively.
