Matiang'i should go for President seat in 2022: Arati

Dagoretti North MP Simba Arati (pictured) has urged Interior CS Fred Matiang'i to run for President in 2022.

Speaking when he hosted a delegation from Bobasi Constituency at his rural home in Kisii, yesterday, the MP said the CS stood a chance of being chosen to succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Arati, warned legislators allied to Deputy President William Ruto to stop fighting Dr Matiang'i.

“The President expressed his confidence in Dr Matiangi’s leadership by elevating him to supervise the work of all national Government ministries due to his good performance since 2013. Why are some of our brothers fighting him?" posed Arati.

He added: “It is worth noting that all the legislators fighting Dr Matiang'i in Kisii and Nyamira Counties are serving their first term in office, they should be aware that the people of Gusii land are not happy with them for fighting their own brother”.
