The World Bank has announced a partnership with the county government in the areas of agriculture and agribusiness.

Yesterday, when representatives from the bank met Governor Salim Mvurya in his office, they said the county's good performance in agriculture had spurred them to moot a partnership.

Parmesh Shah, an official with the bank, said his employer would be keen to empower farmers and increase inclusivity as far as agricultural practices were concerned.

Mr Mvurya (pictured) assured the World Bank of his administration's total cooperation in improving residents' livelihoods.

He said the county had established water sources such as Nyalani and Mvili dams.
