Sh8 billion superstar tempts Manchester United to come get him

Manchester United target Bruno Fernandes has reiterated his desire to play in the Premier League as he pushes for a summer transfer.

The Sporting Lisbon playmaker is the subject of intense interest from the Red Devils after his impressive form last season.

But the Old Trafford club are believed to be reluctant to meet Sporting's high valuation of the player after their president insisted a bid of around £55m would still not be enough to convince them to sell.

With Sporting Lisbon departing from Portugal to take on Liverpool in New York on Wednesday, Fernandes responded to transfer speculation when approached at the airport by reporters.

He refused to rule out the clash with the Reds being his last Sporting appearance as he declared "I don't care about the market" and appeared to urge club bosses to let him go.

"The president decides that, not me," Fernandes said.

"I don't care about the market, I've talked about this many times.

"The only thing I can do now is that I need to catch the plane so I don't miss it.

"Will this be the last match for Sporting? I don't know, it's the coach who decides.

"I told you before I'd like to play in England, but I don't care about it right now.

"If it could be this season? It could be when the club decides, I'm not in charge."

Whilst Fernandes appears interested by a move to Old Trafford, his club continue to be reluctant to negotiate on any fee lower than what they perceive to be market value.

Speaking on Monday, president Frederico Varandas told RTP: “I don’t know if there are many or if there are few [interested clubs].

“What I know, a lot has been spoken of values, coming to the press, €55m, €62m… for that he doesn’t leave, for sure.

“If Bruno Fernandes leaves, players with quality will come. But if Bruno leaves.”
