Lugari MP Ayub Savula has accused political adversaries of dragging his name into the alleged assassination plot against Deputy President William Ruto.

Savula dismissed reports that he was among Ruto allies demanding the court to admit the audio-video recording implicating Cabinet Secretaries from Central who allegedly met and plotted how to eliminate the DP at La Mada hotel.

“I have at no single incident discussed with the Deputy President on matters of the alleged assassination and the audio-video recording, let Ruto deal with DCI and tell the investigators the truth of the matter,” argued Savula.

Addressing journalists in Kakamega, Savula said he has never commented over the assassination saga, “because I was not in the purported meeting neither do I conduct investigations.”

Savula was reacting to reports by some local media stations that he wanted the audio-video recording in possession of State House digital director Dennis Itumbi adduced in court as part of the evidence in the alleged assassination plot.

He said Ruto must be prepared to deal with the DCI so that Kenyans can know the truth if found to have given false information, he (Ruto) should be prosecuted and if there is some truth, those implicated must face full force of the law,” said the MP.

According to Savula, politicians must heed President Uhuru Kenyatta’s advice to shelve early campaigns and focus on serving the people.
