Kericho female tea picker kills employer over Sh150 debt

Police in Kericho are looking for a 22-year-old woman for allegedly stabbing her elderly employer to death over a Sh150 debt.

Kericho Police Commander James Mugera said Jesca Chesang a local tea picker reportedly picked a quarrel with 62-year-old Joseph Kimutai Sang over her daily wage before allegedly stabbing him with a knife in the back and fleeing the scene.

The incident occurred at Kabarus village of Cheborge Location in Bureti sub-county and was reported to police at 10:40pm Thursday night.

"Chesang went to Sang to demand Sh150 she was owed as the day's wage. When he failed to pay her immediately, an argument ensued between them before she stabbed Sang and fled," said Mugera.
