A man who pretended to be an examination officer and defrauded two students at Egerton University of Sh110,000 was yesterday charged in a Nakuru Court with fraud.

Samuel Mwangi denied the charges of impersonation and obtaining money through false pretense before Nakuru Principal Magistrate Bernard Mararo.

Mwangi is said to have defrauded Levis Kiprop of Sh100,700 on diverse dates between March 21 and April 1 at Egerton University in Njoro sub-county.

He also denied obtaining Sh10,000 from Kirui Ng’eno on March 10, at the university by pretending he was in a position to fix his missing marks problems.

The case is scheduled for hearing on June 14.
