Luckiest man alive

Brenda Chesingei, Area Sales Manager, Safaricom, Eldoret hands over the Sh1 million dummy cheque to Stephen Ngoje, Kochokocho Winner from Moi University, Eldoret.

Stephen Ngoje, an Electronics and Electrical Engineering student at Moi University, Eldoret, is the latest winner of Sh1 million in the ongoing Shukrani Kochokocho Kenya Nzima promotion.

The 23-year-old is in his last semester of his studies at the Kesses Campus. He says the money will help him settle after his education as well as do a couple of other things.

“I am very happy to have won a million shillings at this stage of my life. I am completing my undergraduate studies with a promising beginning thanks to Shukrani Kochokocho. I am going to enroll for a Master’s Program in Electrical Engineering as soon as I get my results. The money will also go a long way in advancing my younger sister’s university education,” said Ngoje.

From a humble background, he was born and bred in Kamagambo, Migori County. He is the fourth born in a family of five and has two sisters and two brothers. Their education has been a struggle due to financial constraints.

Other week six millionaires include: Kangwere Mutemi, a 68-year old farmer from Kitui County, Eastern Region; Consolata Gakuhi Njoroge, 43, who works at a flower farm in Thika, Central Kenya region; Bramwel Osogol Emongole from Bungoma, Western region; Jared Mwai Kichia from Migori, Nyanza Region and Keziah Wambui Irungu from Githurai, Nairobi Region. Coast and North Eastern winners will be announced in the coming week once the winners are reached.

Close to four million customers across the country have been awarded with weekly cash and daily airtime prizes worth over Sh200 million shillings as the promotion enters its seventh week.

“We are proud to share stories of week six winners today. Ngoje’s story is a true testament of how lives can be transformed and we celebrate these stories with joy. We also hope to see more Kenyans become millionaires as the promotion nears its end. Keep toping up and transacting on M-PESA for a chance to be our next winner,” said Sylvia Mulinge, Chief Customer Officer, Safaricom.

The promotion is designed to have weekly draws for each of the eight regions to reward customers. In addition, more than 500,000 customers are expected to win cash prizes of Sh1,000 and above, while more than 5 million other customers stand to win daily airtime prizes.
