National carrier Kenya Airways and Italian largest airline Alitalia have signed a codeshare deal that will offer more connectivity for their customers.

The deal, which came to effect last Thursday, the two airlines said in a statement, is expected to boost business travel and tourism between Italy and Kenya, giving tourists and businessmen more travel options through the two airlines’ hubs in Rome and Nairobi.

The deal will see Alitalia’s code placed on KQ’s flights to a further 19 African destinations.
