Nondescripts are keen to complete a double over KCB when they face defending champions in a Kenya Cup round 13 fixture at KCB Sports Club today.

Nondies, who lie fourth on the standings with 41 points, stunned KCB 27-22 in the reverse fixture last year. The result ended the bankers 20-month unbeaten run and Nondies coach Willis Ojal anticipates a tough encounter.

“I know battle against KCB will be harder for us, perhaps more than they did against Kabras Sugar. It's a game just like any other and there is no much difference between the two teams. We will look forward to the match targetting a good result," Ojal said.

Ojal’s men face a KCB side on a good run of form, having won their last 11 matches and only points difference separates them with log leaders Kabras.

Meanwhile, Kenya Harlequin will be at home against newbies Menengai Oilers and with four rounds remaining to end the league phase, Quins assistant coach Benjamin Ayimba has reiterated the importance of consolidating their third position on the table.

“We need to win all our remaining matches and the Oilers fixture is one of them. Our aim is to cement third position on the standings,” Ayimba said.

Oilers coach Gibson Weru is aware of the threat posed by Quins but he is optimistic of a positive outcome.

“The boys have proved that they can compete favourably with the big sides and we hope things will go our way. Quins is a quality side with good players in every department but that will not deter us from going for the points,” Weru said.

The Impala Club will host a double-header with Homeboyz and Mwamba opening proceedings with the day’s early kick off at 2pm before hosts Impala Saracens confront Nakuru RFC.

Kabras Sugar clash with Blak Blad as Strathmore Leos and University of Nairobi’s Mean Machine face off in a relegation battle today.

The two university sides occupy the drop zone and are in danger of losing their top-tier status.
