Man beats wife for demanding he use a condom

A man has been charged with assaulting his wife after allegedly disagreeing over bedroom matters.

The court heard that Charles Mutua Makau beat up his wife Judy Mbithe, after she demanded that he sheaths up before sex.

Police said the two had been living separately following domestic squabbles.

The prosecution told the court that Judy left her matrimonial home following disagreement with her husband.

On the material day, the accused is alleged to have invited his estranged wife to his house to discuss how to salvage their marriage and discuss their child’s welfare.

According to police, Makau went on to demand his conjugal rights midway.

Judy is said to have demanded that he uses a condom after a lengthy argument, but Makau would have none of it.

A furious Makau, according to police, assaulted his wife, arguing that it was his right as the husband to have sex with his wife.

The attack left Judy with injuries and she had to be rushed to hospital by neighbours who heard the commotion.

Makau denied the charge and was released on Sh30,000 cash bail.

The matter will be heard on January 31.
