Gunmen stormed the Dusit Hotel complex in Westlands, Nairobi, on Tuesday at around 3pm. The Al Shabaab, a Somalia-based militant group has claimed responsibility for the assault.
Interior Ministry has asked public to stay away from Dusit Hotel complex as it remains an active
operation area.
The United States and the United Nations has condemned the terror attack. US termed it "a senseless act of violence," while UN called it a "horrible terrorist attack."
Over 50 people have been rescued from Dusit hotel complex at 14 Riverside area in Nairobi even as security forces battle terrorists for over 10 hours.
At least 15 people were killed in the terror attack on Dusit complex in Westlands.
Police have so far rescued 174 people overnight as authorities say they are in control of CCTV cameras.
Those killed include 11 Kenyans, two Britons, one American and the other one not yet identified.
