A woman is nursing injuries at Migori County Level Four hospital after her husband attacked her with a machete in Rapogi village, Uriri sub-county.

Monica Atieno, 42, who is nursing deep cuts on her back with one finger cut off, said they had reunited with her husband after they were separated for more than two years following domestic wrangles.

“I have been living in a rented house at Nyamome village, Suna west sub county with my three children after we had matrimonial disagreement,” she said.

Uriri OCPD Benjamin Mwanzia said the suspect pretended to have reconciled with the wife only to turn against her at 1am.

"The suspect had lured the woman back to his house after they had been living apart for two years. On the fateful night, he woke up, took a machete and started attacking the woman," said Mr Mwanzia. The police have launched a manhunt for the suspect.
