Form Two girl electrocuted

A Form Two girl was yesterday electrocuted in her brother’s house at Ngulu, Central Kochia location.

The St Bakhita Girls student was said to have come into contact with a live electric wire.

Area Chief Eucabeth Obila said the 16-year-old died while receiving treatment at the Homa Bay County Referral Hospital.

“The student was rushed to Nyagoro Sub-District Hospital for first aid before being transferred to Homa Bay town for specialised treatment,” Ms Obila said.

Elsewhere, a 38-year-old man was killed in a bar during new year celebrations.

Kennedy Ochieng’ died on the spot after he was stabbed three times in the neck with a kitchen knife at Lwanda Kawuor trading centre in Ndhiwa sub-county on Tuesday night.

Eyewitnesses said the victim and his assailant arrived together at the bar.

Homa Bay County Police Commander Marius Tum said  investigation was on.
