As Kenyans marked 55 year of self-rule on Wednesday, Moi International Airport, Mombasa earned new accolades by becoming the first such facility in Africa to install a solar system at an airport to reduce aviation carbon emissions by planes during take-off.
The launch ceremony was officiated by the President of the Council of the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO), Dr Olumuyiwa Benard Aliu.
