Three teachers have been recognised for their exemplary performance in the administration of the 2018 KCPE examination.

Boru Racha, Mohamed Hassan and Beladine Dothyo were honoured for fully implementing Kenya National Examination Council (Knec) measures.

Teachers Service Commission CEO Nancy Macharia said the decision was arrived at following a report presented by Knec.

Sources said the primary school teachers from North Eastern region resisted any form of malpractice and blackmail.

“They displayed utmost honesty, integrity and firmness during the examinations,” said an official familiar with the case.

The teachers, two from the same school, were supervisors and invigilators.

“They rejected any form of inducement and blackmail and stood firm as per Knec guidelines,” said the official.

Mrs Macharia said the teachers would be honoured based on TSC recognition policy.

“We will also submit their names to receive State Commendation Awards,” she said.

Macharia cautioned teachers who engage in examination irregularities, saying stern action would be taken against them.

She said at least 26 teachers were involved in cheating with some abetting impersonation.
