Four charged with trafficking drugs worth Sh4 million

Four people have appeared in a Nairobi Court to answer to charges of drug trafficking.

Bernard Otieno Oduor, Judith Atieno Odote, Boaz Ouma Oloo and Mary Muita Nyaguthie are facing two counts of trafficking in narcotic drugs worth over shillings 4 million contrary to section 4 (a) of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Control Act No 4 of 1994.

The accused who are represented by city lawyers John Ogada and Alex Wageni have all denied the charges and pleaded not guilty.

According to the charge sheet, the four are accused that on September 11, 2018 at JKIA’s terminal 1A they trafficked 59 pellets of heroin weighing 797.70 grams with a market value of Sh2,393,100.

They also had 49 pellets weighing 576.61 grams with a market value of Sh1,729,830.

They have since been released on Sh1 million and surety of a similar amount.

The case will be heard between November 13 and 15.
