Manchester United players are fuming over the constant attacks from club legends.

United hero Paul Scholes has been one of the most outspoken critics after blasting the club and current members of the squad including Paul Pogba.

Club legends Gary Neville and Rio Ferdinand have also been outspoken in their views with United struggling badly under Jose Mourinho.

But Mirror Sport understands current stars have been sent video clips of ex-players making high profile mistakes and they have even been passed around members of the squad and within their close circle of friends.

They think some of the comments have been “over the top” bearing in mind that even some of the club’s greatest players made errors during their careers.

But they also think some of the criticism has been too personal and are particularly upset by constant accusations that they do not care about the club.

United players believe many ex-stars lack the courage to criticise Mourinho so are taking it out on the players themselves.

They have also been taken aback by the number of former players in the media as TV and radio pundits weighing into the debate with remarks which lack any sort of constructive criticism.

United boss Mourinho has come under fire but some of the harshest remarks have been reserved for the players and that is causing major resentment within the squad.
