Woman caught with husband’s body inside sack to spend seven days in custody

A woman suspected of killing her husband and ferrying his mutilated body inside a sack was on Monday presented in court.

Mitchel Shisanya alias Melisa appeared in court together with Samuel Amatuka, a boda boda operator whose motorcycle the police claimed was bused to transport the body.

The two suspects did not take plea after the investigating officer requested for more time to investigate and gather more witnesses to record statements.

Investigators requested the High Court in Eldoret to give them more time to gather forensic evidence from DNA and fingerprint analyses of the suspects.

Shisanya, who police say is the prime suspect in the killing, was arrested on October 7 at her home in Bondeni, Kamukunji estate.

The two suspects will be detained at Eldoret West Police station for seven days.

The court also asked police to take the suspects to Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital for mental assessment.

The case will be mentioned on October 12.
