Monica Kimani’s properties in Nairobi and wedding plans

The murder of Monica Kimani has been linked to Joseph Irungu aka Jowie – Jacque Maribe's fiancée who has since been arrested but details about Monica Kimani that are not known to many have emerged.

Monica who worked in South Sudan was in the country to plan her wedding to a man known as Yasir Mohamed who holds a senior position to a firm in South Sudan.

Mohamed had already visited Monica's home in Thika to introduce himself to her finance's parents.

The wedding plans according to the Nairobian were already in place, the late Monica had already chosen the venue and even the theme of her wedding with her fiancé Mohamed. 


Monica’s father said his daughter had promised to buy him a V8 Toyota Land Cruiser on her birthday and had just bought her mum a Subaru Impreza a week before her demise.

Her father, Reverend Paul Ngarama spoke of how Monica had bought houses in Ruaka and Imara Daima in Nairobi.

In addition to these houses, Monica is said to have also purchased parcels of land in Joska along Kangundo Road.

Monica before the time of her death was taking care of their family business: Millipaul General Trading, an establishment named after their parents.

Monica’s father also revealed that Monica worked as a contractor for UAP insurance company in Juba, South Sudan, even the contract was about to end.

He promised to pray for her killers, whom he said he had forgiven.

Monica was murdered and her body placed inside a bathtub with her hands tied together, her mouth sealed with adhesive tape and her throat slit.

Detectives said their leads so far have only linked Joseph Irungu to the murder.

Irungu, who is in police custody, is a fiancé of Citizen TV anchor Jacque Maribe.
