Government provides Sh200m for machines

The Government has released Sh200 million to buy magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) machines for Kericho County Hospital. “Health Principal Secretary Peter Tum confirmed that the money has been released and is ready for the purchase of the much-needed Magnetic Resonance Imaging machines,” Senator Aaron Cheruiyot said.

The MRI scan is a radiology technique that uses magnetism, radio waves and a computer to produce images of body structures. Patients requiring MRI scans in Kericho will pay between Sh8,000 and Sh12,000. Private hospitals charge between Sh20,000 and Sh25,000
