Menengai oilers qualify for Kenya Cup

Menengai Oilers have been promoted to the Kenya Cup after knocking out Kisumu RFC 32-3 in the KRU Championship League semi-final played at the Nakuru ASK Showground.

The Menengai Oilers and Mean Machine will replace the relegated Kisii RFC and Mombasa RFC for the next season in the Kenya Cup league. The two teams clash at the Nakuru ASK Showground on Saturday May 5th to determine the winner of the KRU Championship League.

Ben Kamau, Menengai Oilers Backs Coach commented, “The boys stuck to the game plan and executed what we have been working on in training. We had put in a lot of hard work in getting our defence shape right and playing with a high intensity which is what gave us the platform for the win’’.Playing under the sponsorship of the Kipepeo brand a product of the Menengai Oil Refineries, the Oilers have set a record of being the only club to earn back to back promotion only 2 years after their formation.
