Residents of Kariobangi Light Industries can now breathe easy after county employees unclogged a sewer line that has been giving them sleepless nights.

The sewage line ruptured over a month, spewing raw sewage into their homes. Despite numerous complaints, nothing was done until yesterday.

The source of the problem was blockage of the main sewer line by a building erected on its path. Some residents claimed the stench caused them breathing problems.

The county employees demolished the building blocking the sewer line. "The owner of the building put it up on a manhole therefore blocking sewage from flowing. Living here has been a nightmare and our children have become sick because of this," said Collins Onyango, a resident.
