The Kenyan Premier League resumes today with an action-packed Easter schedule.

Eight fixtures are lined up across the country after a two-week international break.

Mathare United kicks off the round eight proceedings today against visiting Chemelil Sugar in Machakos.

The Slum Boys will be aiming to pile pressure on joint league leaders Gor Mahia and AFC Leopards.

The Good Friday encounter provides a perfect opportunity for Francis Kimanzi’s men, who are just two points (14) shy of the two rivals, to temporarily return to the summit.

Six matches are lined up for tomorrow with champions Gor Mahia hoping to bounce back from a frustrating 1-0 (aggregate) CAF Champions League first round defeat to Tunisian side Esperance when they host newcomers Vihiga United in Kisumu.

Struggling Nakumatt will be hoping to put their financial woes behind them when they clash with fancied Sofapaka at 3pm in Ruaraka as Kariobangi Sharks take on Ulinzi Stars in the second double header tie at Camp Toyoyo.

The 4.15pm encounter will be preceded by an early kick off match (2pm) between Posta Rangers and Thika United at the same venue.

With no fixtures on Sunday, the highlight of the weekend will definitely be on Easter Monday when high-riding AFC Leopards collide with 11 time champions Tusker at 4.15pm in Kericho.

The brewers and Ingwe meet each other in a contrasting form.

While Leopards are in a fine run of form with a four-game winning streak, 14th placed Tusker, who have garnered a paltry six points from seven outings, are winless in the last four matches.

But as Leopards will be looking to extend the unbeaten run to five matches while the brewers will be out to compensate a devastating 5-4 defeat to Sofapaka in Machakos.
