Mr Kamukunji body building contest set for Saturday at Pumwani School

Kenya Body Building Federation has sanctioned Mr. Kamukunji content to be held on Saturday at Pumwani Secondary School in Nairobi County.

Federation Chairman Chris Omedo said the contest is exclusively for upcoming body builders and will be used as a talent search.

“The event is meant to give an opportunity to upcoming athletes to compete among themselves at their level thus getting exposure,” said Omedo.

 Event organizer Christopher Oketch said the overall winner will walk away with Sh 20,000 top prize money with Bikini and male physique winners pocketing Sh 15,000 and Sh 10,000 respectively.

Meanwhile the Greater Western Open championships is set for May 5 at Aga Khan hall, Kisumu and will feature bikini, figure and male physique categories. At the sametime, Omedo said Mr. /Ms. Kenya Open competition is scheduled for September 8 in Nairobi at a venue to be communicated later.

“I urge musclemen and women to engage their last gear and prepare vigorously for the two events,” said Omedo, adding that the federation was working on one or two more events subject to availability of sponsors.

The chairman urged body builders to desist from using banned substances as ADAK officials will take random blood samples to the participants. [Ernest Ndunda]
