Kennedy Agyapong (whose full name is Kennedy Kwame Ohene Agyapong) is the Member of Parliament (MP) for Assin Central from the New Patriotic Party in Ghana.

He is known for his defamatory statements about other people, including his colleagues.

Mr Agyapong has recently attracted a lot of attention to himself after he alleged that Charlotte Osei, the chairperson of the Electoral Commission of Ghana, offered sexual favours.

For this reason, we want to talk a little bit more about the man himself. Check out these details about Kennedy Agyapong that you might not know about him.

  • Kennedy is the only Member of Parliament to have his own special swearing-in ceremony when the new parliament is inducted. Ever since his first entry to the parliament back in 2004, he has never taken part in the swearing-in ceremony with the other MPs. His ceremonies were held just for him after the main ones have taken place.
  • Agyapong is one of the few MPs who have an arrest record. It was obvious from the start that Kennedy would not be able to get away with his scurrilous comments for long. One time, he took it just a bit too far. The fiery MP has once made a treasonable statement against the state that led to his arrest and detainment. He was kept in custody by the Bureau for National Investigations for several days before he was released.
  • Kennedy Agyapong is the owner of an $80,000 bed and a GH?8 billion Rolls Royce. The MP is very obviously rich, but nobody knows for sure where his money comes from. Among his large fleet of cars, there is a luxurious Rolls Royce, which is said to cost around 8 billion cedis. However, the luxury does not stop there. Kennedy sleeps on the very expensive bed that, according to some claims, is said to cost $80,000.
