Man charged for fraudulently obtaining money by pretending to be Moi's grandson

A 34-year-old man yesterday pleaded guilty to fraudulently obtaining money under the pretext of being former president Daniel Moi's grandson.

Appearing before Principal Magistrate Joe Omido, the accused, Chrysantus Kobilo, 34, was said to have obtained Sh250,000 from Kings Outreach Pastor Silas Chesergon on the promise that he would help to import a motor vehicle.

"I presented myself as Moi's grandson to the complainant who gave me Sh250,000 to import a vehicle," Mr Kobilo told the court.

A determination of the matter is expected on Monday. "The matter will proceed for facts on Monday, when the court will make a verdict," said Mr Omido.
