Vote recount in 131 polling stations in a petition challenging re-election of governor Patrick Khaemba has started.

The petition was filed by two voters, Robinson Simiyu and Alfha Chore, who cited irregularities.

They want Khaemba’s victory nullified over claims he did not win fairly.

Justice Anthony Charo ordered the recount. Khaemba, who contested on a Ford Kenya ticket, garnered 135,345 against his closet rival Maurice Bisau of Jubilee, who had 92,561 votes.
