A Form Two student has committed suicide at Kibathi village in Nyahururu after his father allegedly failed to transfer him to a school of his choice.

The body of the student at a school in Mararal, Samburu County, was found dangling from the roof of his room by neighbours who went to visit him yesterday morning.

According to residents, the boy had quarreled with his father on Monday. The boy lived with the father after his mother died.

Neighbours said he had been demanding to be transferred from the school as it was located in a remote area.

Lucy Njeri said the father had left for work in the evening and that was when the boy committed suicide.
